The mountain river Rangbhang flows through the village in a scenic setting. During the monsoon, the color of the stream's muddy water turns copper like. In local Nepali language, 'Tamba' means copper and 'Koshi' means a river. So the name of the river is also locally known as Tambakoshi or Tabakoshi.
